The visuals from the event would be interesting enough but I wanted to make more of the site than a video feed placed in the middle of page. The trick is to do something noticeable but to keep it subtle at the same time: I want to draw attention to the picture and not its frame.
I decided to work the oblique line throughout the design. It appears mainly and most obviously on the right, to house the logo and all-important social media buttons, but it is also worked into the rest of the design. The menu buttons would slide up in the same direction and the vertical sides of any box were at the same angle. It almost looked like the site had been ‘italicised’, adding a little pace.
